Food and wine in country NSW

Country New South Wales stretches west of the Blue Mountains to Central NSW, to the north is the Upper Hunter and New England North West, south is Capital Country and southwest is the Riverina. It’s a region with a rich pioneering history and stunning natural attractions.

Some of the most fertile land in Australia is here producing crops ranging from wheat and rice to oranges, beef, many varieties of grapes and succulent cherries. Seasonal, fresh-picked food can be found at farmers’ markets, restaurants and produce shops sprinkled throughout the region. Or head to any number of regional events in country towns from Orange to Griffith, Cowra to Armidale and Scone for wine tastings, harvest celebrations and lively music.
